For Emily, it was quite a natural progression from senior student to teacher when she was 16.
“I’d danced at the same studio since I was 2.5 years old and was showing qualities of leadership and aptitude for teaching. As well as absolutely loving dance and working with children, I jumped at the opportunity to share this passion.”
WHAT EMILY LOVES ABOUT TEACHING
“I love every aspect of teaching dance! At a fundamental level, I love the fact that I’m sharing a love of movement and body awareness with my students, but it is much more than that! I love the fact that it doesn’t matter what’s going on in my life, their lives or the world around us, for the time they are in class none of that matters. They have a complete freedom to express themselves through movement, build friendships and much more whilst learning a beautiful art form. I also love being able to build special relationships with each student and the challenge that discovering their unique and individual talents provides me.”
EMILY’S FAVOURITE THING TO TEACH
“Although tap and jazz are lots of fun to teach, ballet will always be my favourite. I particularly love teaching skips because it is very rewarding to see my students working towards and achieving this huge developmental milestone.”
