More than a ballet school, we nurture joyful, confident little people and magical memories

“I can still see the blue satin of my first tutu and the way my tinsel tiara sparkled. I loved that moment, and I love remembering those wonder-filled, magical childhood memories. I want to help create similar memories for your little ballerina at Tutu Studios.

Having danced all through my childhood and teenage years, it was natural for me to take my own two little girls to ballet classes too. I remember that each time they went into class and the door closed behind them I would think – I want to be the person on the other side of the door – the person teaching that class.

So I trained with the Royal Academy of Dance and became a teacher on the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies program. I taught at several leading ballet schools in the Eastern Suburbs and also at McDonald College Strathfield. I soon discovered that I really loved teaching the youngest dancers and creating a very special experience for them with a story-based class plan, gorgeous classical music and whimsical props.

In 2011, I started Tutu Studios with four classes on two days and it grew from there. It is the best thing I have ever done, and helping toddlers and pre-schoolers to discover the joy of dance, and to become happy, confident little people my greatest reward.”

Welcome to Tutu Studios

Tutu-logo_girl

A school for little dancers to experience the magic of beautiful music and movement through fairy tales, stories, sparkles, and ribbons. Not only will your little dancer grow into a creative, confident, happy young person, you’ll be able to celebrate each special step she takes along the way.

  • Mummy are we going to ballet today? This is the question I hear from my 2 year old daughter every morning The way the teacher interacts with the kids and the patience she has in teaching them makes my daughter so confident and so interested in going to her classes every week. I started looking forward to this class myself!

If your child is shy to begin with, she’ll soon blossom into a confident little person with us

We believe that every child should experience the delight of moving to music, and be transported and mesmerised by the beautiful stories and the adventures we go on each class.

Every child should experience the thrill and wonder of dressing up for their first special concert in a gorgeous tutu and performing for their favourite audience, you.

Every child should feel that sense of accomplishment when they learn a new skill, and learn the love and habit of moving, to feel great because they are exercising.

Every child should look back when they are older and think what a magical, cherished childhood memory their first ballet lessons were. If you believe your child should have this too, we would love for your little ballerina to join us.

Our Philosophy and Curriculum

At Tutu Studios, we believe in inspiring creativity and fostering a life-long love of movement in children through the artistry of dance.

As much as we encourage self-expression and creativity through play and imagination, we also make sure all classes are structured in a way to best develop your child’s motor skills, coordination, and confidence.

Leap N’ Learn and Royal Academy of Dance

Our class plans have been designed incorporating the best practices of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Leap N’ Learn. Leap N’ Learn is an early childhood dance program designed specifically for girls and boys 3-8 years by master ballet teacher Beverly Spell and expert child psychologist Dr Annie Spell.

We are the only licenced Leap N’ Learn studio in Sydney and one of two in Australia. The Leap N’ Learn program brings another element to our classes as it focuses on the cognitive and neural development of the child.

We have uniquely weaved the principles of Leap N’ Learn and RAD with stories and fairy tales to make your child’s ballet learning experience even more magical.
